Getting Organised Using Plastic Storage
Plastic storage baskets make the perfect companion when decluttering and organising your home.
We’re all guilty of letting clutter build up over time, especially when you’ve been living in the same house for years – most of the time you won’t even remember half of the things you own! So, it’s important to set time aside to declutter your home as often as necessary. Once done, it’s important to keep on top of the clutter – that way, the next time you declutter, it will take a fraction of the time.
We’ve put together a few simple steps to help you get into the swing of things:
Step 1: Organise your decluttering process
It’s important not to rush and to only tackle one area at a time. Whilst you’re at your most motivated, we recommend starting with the area of your home which has collated the most clutter – perhaps a home office, a children’s playroom or a dressing room/walk in wardrobe.
Start with three plastic storage boxes;
As soon as a box is full, set it aside and grab a new one. With rubbish/recycling, dispose of it instantly to avoid more mess.
Step 2: Purge
The process of decluttering needs to be brutal. It’s important to be strict with yourself and if you’re struggling then you may find it useful to have someone else there to help.
As a general rule, if you haven’t used it in the past 6 months, and don’t see yourself using it in the next 6 months, then it needs to go.
Step 3: Store appropriately
Now that you’ve decluttered and you’re left with only the items you love/need, it’s time to organise everything into appropriate storage.
Our plastic storage boxes are available in a variety of sizes and colours, making them perfect whether you want them on display or if you’d rather fit them inside cupboards, wardrobes or drawers.
For large items that don’t get used very often (e.g. winter coats), we recommend using our large plastic storage boxes and keeping these in a loft or under a bed, so that they’re out the way.
When it comes to smaller, day to day items such as toiletries, they’ll need to be more accessible. Organising these items into categories and using a number of smaller storage boxes to keep them separate works perfectly – you’ll always be able to find what you’re looking for.
If you’re looking to take your organisation session to the next level, we recommend labeling your storage boxes so it’s clear what belongs where.
Happy decluttering!
Very happy with the quality and service. This came as a repair after having my holiday home for many years. Looks good, brought my shower cubicle back to life. Will be ordering again off P4. - Mrs Hopton – Leisure Customer
Purchased the 'Anything Tray' to do crafts at home with my son who is 5 years old. This tray is brilliant, i purchased some more. Not only did it keep the place clean, it made sure no accidents happened on the carpet. I also stored it all away for another day. Brilliant! - Mrs Jarvis
